Cebu Pacific opens Clark-Cebu service

-
Cebu Pacific Air begins its operations in Northern Luzon by linking the former Clark International Airport in Angeles City, Pampanga to Cebu City effective Oct. 26, 2001.

To be available three times a week, the Clark-Cebu flights aim to provide approximately 16 million passengers in the four regions of the North with a safe, efficient, prompt and fun mode of air transportation to Cebu City.

Manolo San Juan, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing said the decision to fly the Clark-Cebu route is supported by statistics on the travel patterns of domestic travelers. He added that there is a good possibility that the frequency of the Clark-Cebu service may be increased to daily flights, depending on the response of the market.

No less than President Arroyo had commended JG Summit for Cebu Pacific’s decision to service the Clark-Cebu route.

In a recent ceremony which renamed Clark International Airport to Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA), the President said: "I would like to thank Mr. James Go (JG Summit president) for launching the Clark-Cebu-Clark thrice-a-week flight operations."

Cebu Pacific, local government officials and the local travel and trade industry have agreed to work together to ensure the success of the new service, which is expected to boost tourism in Northern Luzon.
