US firm cites Litton Mills

Litton Mills Inc., a subsidiary of JG Summit Holdings, Inc., has been awarded the Golden Award for 100-percent on-time delivery by Oshkosh B‘Gosh Inc., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of children’s apparel.

Johnson Robert Go. Jr., Litton senior vice president for manufacturing and administration, said: "It is very important for buyers like Oshkosh that they get exactly what they order from their suppliers. This means having the right product delivered at the right time and in the right quantity. We’ve been able to do that successfully."

"To be given this accolade is of great relevance to us because it validates our commitment and competitiveness as a global company. We are dedicated to creating products that our customers want and delivering these on a timely fashion," he said.

Go said Oshkosh’s award was particularly rewarding for Litton because of the US firm’s high standards of quality.

"Oshkosh is one of the most demanding customers in terms of their quality standards since they cater to a very discriminating market, that of children’s clothing. There are more stringent quality and safety parameters when manufacturing for children’s clothing – fabric strength, type of dyes used, consistent colors – that set it apart from garments for teens and adults," he said.

Litton has been supplying Oshkosh with denims for the past three years. Wisconsin-based Oshkosh is best recognized as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of children’s wear representing classic American style and quality. Its products are widely distributed in department and specialty stores in the United States and in over 80 countries worldwide.

In the last five years, the company has been holding annual vendor conferences to gather all their suppliers and partners in the business worldwide. This year, the conference was held at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
