DHL ‘Global Express Carrier of the Year’

DHL Worldwide Express has been awarded the coveted "Global Express Carrier of the Year" by electronics giant and long-term partner Royal Philips Electronics.

According to Jose B. Feliciano, DHL Philippines Corp. president, "services delivered to Philips have been evaluated by a number of criteria focusing on the delivery performance and availability of shipment information which are critical to the effectiveness of Philips’ supply chain and after-sales programs. As the world’s leading air express service, Feliciano said, "DHL has distinguished itself by its effective global management, its proactive anticipation of new developments and needs of Philips as well as its ability to resolve issues within the Philips-DHL partnership which has grown over the past 10 years.

In 1998 DHL Worldwide Express was named the "World’s Most Global Company" by Global Finance magazine for its excellence in global reach, vision and management strategies. DHL has been named "Best Express Service" for the past 14 consecutive years at the Asia Freight Industry Awards and for the past six years has been voted as one of Asia’s leading companies in Far Eastern Economic Review’s 200 survey.

Acknowledged leader

"We will continue to upgrade our capabilities, add value to Philips’ supply chain and take our partnership to another level," he added.

The ceremony took place in White Plains, New York, in conjunction with the annual conference of the Philips North American Logistics Council.

In Asia-Pacific/Middle East, DHL serves 51 countries and territories, operates more than 1,300 stations, employs more than 18,000 personnel and operates about 3,900 transport vehicles.
