Omega Computer hosts DataCard regional training

Rafael Garcia III, president of Omega Computer Corp. (OCC), said yesterday the company is currently conducting an intensive technical training seminar on the DataCard DC 9000 Series card issuance system. The three-week training program which will culminate on Friday, Oct. 27, is attended by representatives from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Thailand and South Korea.

Chuck Purcell of DataCard USA, a leading supplier of plastic card equipment worldwide, is leading the training program which includes an introduction to the DC 9000 base system; programmable magnetic stripe; ultragraphix printing; full card overlay; embosser; topper; ultra label; standard speed ultraform and ultrapac.

The DC 9000 is DataCard’s latest, top-of-the-line high volume, cost-effective card issuer system used for major plastic card requirements like credit cards, ATM cards, and high security government ID cards. The all-in-one in-line process not only embosses personalization data on plastic cards, it also prints color photos, barcodes, signature, security ghost images, encoded magnetic stripes and Stmartcard chips and stuffs these into envelopes for mailing after the card has been attached automatically to a cover letter carrier

Aside from being DataCard distributor, OCC is assisting its sister company, Mega Data Corp. in several identification card projects which include the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Philippine driver’s license project, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) ID projects.

OCC has a staff of DataCard-trained engineers and software support personnel to meet to the requirements of its clients. The company also regularly sends its engineers and marketing personnel for training on DataCard equipment abroad.
