Chairman Nemesio G. Co of the National Federation of Hog Farmers Inc. (NFHF) and Rizal Provincial Governor Casimino Ynares Jr. have finalized arrangements over the use of the grounds of the newly built sports complex, the Ynares Center in Antipolo, Rizal. The complex will be used as the site of the 10th National Hog Farmers Convention on May 4 to 6, 2000. The convention is being hosted for the Federation by the Rizal Hog Farmers Association (RHFA).
The Rizal Hog Farmers Association president added that the event normally brings thousands of participants from all over the country and with the convention being held here in Luzon they expect more to come are hectically undertaking preparations. Convention Chairman Dr. Hospicio Timbol pointed out that as Governor Ynares has finally ironed out the arrangements over the use of the Ynares Center, the event will mark Antipolo City as a venue for activities such as this and really turn the City into a convention site for local and international activities.
The events and programs prepared by the host association intends to highlight the significance of the hog farming industry in line with the MAKAMasa Livestock program of President Estrada who has also been invited to be the keynote speaker on the opening day on May 4, 2000. Other highlights includes over 18 seminars and workshops conducted over the three day long convention to promote production efficiency, farm management, feedmilling and of course government regulations and policies.
Agriculture Secretary Edgardo Angara is scheduled to induct the newly elected federation officers while Governor Ynares has been scheduled to induct the new set of officers of Rizal Hog Farmers Association on the second day. Other guests include Cong. Angelito M. Sarmiento, Sen. Sergio Osmeña III and other prominent supporters of the agricultural sector.
