Splash invests P250 M in new facility
Splash Manufacturing Corp. (SMC) is investing a total of P250 million in the construction of a new, state-of-the-art production facility in its three-hectare compound in Canumay, Valenzuela City.
With a total floor area of 12,000 sq.m., said production facility will house the latest and most modern machinery and equipment as well as a fully-automated production line to meet the continuously rising demand for Splash products here and abroad.
According to SMC chief operations officer Shionel Blas Gesite the production facility is the hub of an almost half-a-billion peso development program being undertaken by the company to mark and celebrate its 15th anniversary this year.
Gesite emphasized that aside from the production facility, SMC will erect within the compound a five-story administration building that can rival the sleek and modern offices found in the enclaves of Makati and Ortigas Center.
The company, which became known for its innovative and pioneering beauty and cosmetic products, will also construct a separate two-story edifice that will showcase a spacious, airy and well-lighted cafeteria at the ground floor and a fully-equipped auditorium and training rooms at the second. At present, the Splash Valenzuela compound already houses the company's central warehouse, soap plant, chemical store and multi-purpose covered court.
The new production facility will increase the company's current capacity and introduce sophisticated operational system designed in response to the unprecedented growth of Splash in the local market. Gesite stressed that the project was also dictated by the growing requirements of Splash International Inc. (SII), a member of the Splash Group of Companies that oversees international operations, particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, China, and the Middle East. SII currently operates a manufacturing plant in China and is finalizing plans to establish one in Indonesia as well.
SMC's production facility is targeted to be finished by the first quarter of 2001, with the other buildings set to follow within the same year. Lead project manager is Splash Properties Inc. (SPI).
