Internet super carrier taps local partner
PSINet, one of the Internet super carriers in the world today, has tapped Internet firm IPhil Communications Network Inc. as a local partner in line with its aggressive global expansion program.
Fernando Contreras Jr., IPhil executive vice president and chief operating officer, said that the partnership would bring into the country, various products and services of PSINet such as global web hosting, e-commerce, and high-speed Internet access.
Contreras, however, declined to reveal at the moment, the acquisition cost and specific terms of the merger.
IPhil's focus for this year, he continued, is also related to PSINet's continuing effort to set the standard for the 21st century business-to-business sector.
"With PSINet in operations, we are confident to lead our clients, partners and suppliers to the most effective Internet solution that a business can ever have," he added.
IPhil, Contreras stressed, remains steadfast with its vision of leading the business network which interconnects business to the rest of the world.
IPhil provides powerful Internet solutions to companies and other Internet Service Providers (ISPs) since March 1995.
On the other hand, PSINet, is one of the world's largest and most experienced providers of Internet Protocol -- based communications services for business and offers a complete range of Internet solutions that can help organizations cut costs, boost productivity and expand into new market.
Last year, PSINet expanded into the top 20 telecommunications markets in the world, with over 1,000 sales and marketing people in 27 countries on five continents, connected by a 3.2 terabit-capable, wholly-owned and operated fiber optic network.
