Computer Craft bares fingerscan technology

Computer Craft Corp. has integrated fingerscan technology in its payroll software package to enhance privacy protection.

Fingerscan replaces documents, passwords or personal identification numbers when accessing a file.

Bobby Lua, Computer Craft president, pointed out that the technology is particularly useful to companies which want to ensure accurate daily time record of employees.

With Computer Crafts' Payroll Plus' timekeeping feature, Lua explained that businesses could easily show daily time record and flexible day-off, among other things.

Thus, instead of using a barcode/magnetic swipe card for registering time in and out, for instance, one only needs to scan one's fingers/fingerprints in a user-friendly device attached to the company's network.

"Constantly evolving technology is curiously often pitted against its very creator, human intelligence. And yet the one essential process that answers today's complex business problems remains to be the effective integration of the capabilities of both," he noted.

Biometrics, he continued, it becoming very popular for identity authentication.

It uses physiological and behavioral characteristics such as faces, hands, fingers, signatures, irises, voices and fingerprints for identity confirmation, thereby reducing the risk of files being copied or hacked since the said features are unique to every person.

Aside from biometric technology, Payroll Plus provides business data under one easy-to-use system.

"Payroll Plus is very flexible. It allows the setup of multiple payroll rates using a multitude of different payroll frequencies; daily weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, etc. It can even define overtime, rest day and holiday rate multipliers as well as payroll payment whether it is for check, cash or through automated teller machines," Lua explained. -
