More countries join RP Worldbex 2000

More and more countries are joining the Philippines' super-global construction exhibition Worldbex 2000, which will be held at the WorldTrade Center Metro Manila on March 15-19.

The latest to join are Argentina, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, Romania, Finland, Denmark, Nigeria, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Malaysia.

These bring the number of Worldbex-participating countries to 23, which include the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, New Zealand and China.

At least 15 of them are also participating in Worldbex's Embassy Pavilion, where each will serve as an information desk, a cultural office and a business center.

This early, more than 400 exhibitors have already confirmed participation in Worldbex 2000 which, aside from various country pavilions, will feature a Housing and Realty Pavilion and a Cyber Village.

The Housing and Realty Pavilion will house together property developers, primary financial institutions for the government's housing program, and private banks. The Pavilion is envisioned to provide the public with a one-stop center to serve their housing and real estate needs.

On the other hand, the Cyber Village will feature an Internet Cafe, web developer companies, ISPs, and e-commerce firms, among others. It is seen to boost information exchange in the industry and keep its members abreast with global trends in information technology.

Its website, www.worldbex.com., allows exhibitors and consumers to access information about the event and its participants, and gives constant updates thru its Worldbex interactive section.

Worldbex 2000 is organized by the Worldbex Services International and supported by the Filipino Professional Architects, the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID), the US Commercial Service, and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.

The exhibit will be held in conjunction with the PIID Multi-Disciplinary Seminars for architects, engineers, interior designers and other allied professions on March 16-17 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

To be launched in this international event is the "Worldbex Privilege Card," which is designed to "build bridges among builders" by entitling cardholders or industry professionals to discounts and other premiums in select establishments of participating firms. Many of them are involved in interior design and renovation, construction promotion, supplies, security and fire equipment, engineering/architectural shops, and allied industries such as airlines, bookstores, and hotels, among others.

Worldbex 2000 is also supported by 19 local industry organizations such as the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects, Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers, Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers, Philippine Society of Ventilating, Airconditioning and Refrigerating Engineers, and Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers.
