The merger of the parent companies of AgrEvo Environmental Health and Rhone-Poulenc has created a worldwide leader in the production and supply of active ingredients and concentrates that are found in many of the world's best known consumer pest control products.
The new entity is called Aventis Environmental Science, a separate business line of Aventis CropScience SA that was created in December last year from the merger between Hoechst AG (Germany) and Rhone-Poulenc SA (France).
Albert Evangelista, manager of Aventis Environmental Science in the Philippines, will lead the local environmental science activity. He will be reporting to Andy Sutton, the area general manager based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
"Aventis intends to adopt the best industry practices of its two parents in order to build a modern, creative and competitive company in this marketplace. Our shared vision, common approach to business and complimentary product lines are key to ensuring successful innovations and continued leadership in the technical product area," Evangelista said.
Evangelista explained the Aventis Environmental Science strategy is to partner with companies that provide market-leading opportunities for effective and efficient chemistries.
He said the implementation of this strategy is seen in the collaborative arrangements. Aventis has already made with many market-leading companies around the world and with those that are foreseen as providing optimum economic potential.
"Aventis Environmental Science offers one of the most sophisticated portfolios of specialty active for household and outdoor use," Evangelista said.
Aventis SA possess one of the largest research and development budgets in the industry, forecast at more than $3 billion annually.
