Sun Microsystems Philippines Inc. has formed a new, high performance management team to strengthen the company's bid to be the leading provider of enterprise-wide network computing solutions in the electronic commerce age.
Cynthia Mamon, Sun Philippines president and managing director, said yesterday that prominent information technology (IT) executives with impressive industry experience have joined the firm's executive management team.
The designation of new directors, Mamon explained, aligns the structure and operations of the local company with that of its parent corporation, guaranteeing that the same best practices and standards of Sun's technology, products and services globally will be available in the country.
First in the list, she said is Antonio Pio de Roda, former president of Software AG Philippines and country manager for business communications systems at Lucent Technologies Philippines Inc. who is now Sun's chief operating chief.
Pio de Roda is expected to establish Sun as the dominant and preferred partner for electronic business in the Philippines.
He is also tasked with identifying priority target markets and implementing aggressive market coverage initiatives and with building a stronger business partner network while strengthening Sun's e-business solutions offerings and expertise.
Leila Verceles, on the other hand, who was the country manager of Hewlett-Packard Philippines Corp.'s customer support organization for five years, was named director for enterprise services and is responsible for post sales maintenance, customer education and outsourced data center operation and management.
As the director for business consulting services, Renato Lim takes care of solutions architecting for e-commerce and is responsible for partnering with commercial systems integrators and independent software vendors in implementing such solutions.
