MANILA, Philippines — Perpetual Help ended a long 30-year wait in reclaiming the NCAA tennis juniors crown Tuesday.

Top seed Sherwin Nuguit beat Coby Castillejo of Mapua, 6-0-6-4, in singles final while Lance Maglaqui and Karl Roi Ricamara dominated Red Robins Jaf Cunanan and Paeng Villanueva, 6-3, 6-1, in the doubles  as the Junior Altas emerged as NCAA champs for the first time since winning the 1995 crown.

It will be recalled that coach Samuel Nuguit was still a player with Dennis Canaria when they captured Perpetual’s first juniors title. Now, coach Nuguit’s son Sherwin, along with Kale Cyd Villamar, Ricamara, Maglaqui and Jor Rodolfo brought the title back to Las Piñas.
