MANILA, Philippines — Patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa counterpart nito dahil sa ulat na ititigil na ng Amerika ang pagbibigay ng ayuda.

Sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cesar Chavez, pag-aaralan ng gobyerno kung ano ang magiging epekto nito sa bansa.

“The DFA is closely monitoring reports on the possible freeze of US ­foreign assistance and will work with partners in the US Department of State and the US government to determine how this will affect the Philippines,” pahayag ni Chavez.

Matatandaan na ipi­nag-utos ng US State Department ang sweeping freeze sa pagbibigay ng pondo sa halos lahat ng US foreign assistance.

Maliban na lamang ang food programs at military aid sa Israel at Egypt.

Bukod dito nanganga­nib na mawalan ng ng pondo ang US-funded projects sa health, education, development, job training, anti-corruption, security assistance at iba pa.

Ginawa ng US State Department ang pahayag ilang araw matapos makapanumpa sa tungkulin si US President Donald Trump.
