4 Chinese warship naispatan sa Palawan

MANILA, Philippines — Apat na warship ng People’s Liberation Army (PLA) ng China ang namonitor ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na umaaligid sa Balabac Strait sa Palawan.

Ayon kay AFP-Public Affairs chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad, kabilang dito ang PLAN destroyer Luyang III (DDG-168), frigate Jiangkai II (FFG-570), destroyer Renhai (CG-105), at ang replenishment oiler Fuchi (AOR-907), na patungo sa Timog Silangan ng Balabac Strait.

Gayunman nilinaw ni Trinidad na ang nasabing lugar ay karaniwang dinadaanan ng mga international vessels. Konektado ang Balabac Strait sa West Philippine Sea.

Lumilitaw na ang PLAN destroyer Lu­yang III ay namataan sa layong 12 nautical miles mula sa Palawan habang ang frigate Jiangkai II ay naispatan dakong alas-3:56 ng hapon sa bilis na 13 knots.

Ang PLAN warships na destroyer Renhai at ang replenishment oiler Fuchi ay namonitor sa bilis na 15 knots at patungo sa Katimugang bahagi ng Palawan.

“As part of standard operating procedure, these vessels were challenged and they responded accordingly,” ani Trinidad.
