Pinakabatang 'political prisoner' sa Negros pansamantalang nakalaya
MANILA, Philippines — Matapos ang tatlong taong pagkakakulong sa Negros, pinayagang magpiyansa ng korte ang aktibista't national secretary general ng National Network of Agrarian Reform Advocates-Youth (NNARA-Youth) na si Karina Dela Cerna.
Biyernes nang ianunsyo ng NNARA-Youth ang temporary release ni Karina at kanyang mga magulang na sina Albert at Ma. Pilar dela Cerna, na siyang kapwa niya progresibo.
Matatandaang ika-31 ng Oktubre nang arestuhin ang pamilya sa sunod-sunod na raid sa mga opisina ng mga militante matapos ilabas ang mga search warrant na pinawalambisa rin ng Bacolod City Regional Trial Court 42 dahil sa "illegal authority" ng raiding team.
Matatandaang 19-anyos si Karina, isang peasant advocate at aspiring lawyer, nang ireklamo siya ng illegal possession of firearms. Iginigiit ng NNARA-Youth na tinaniman lang sila ng mga ebidensya.
Kalaunan, kinasuhan naman ang mga Dela Cerna ng dalawang counts ng qualified trafficking in persons gamit ang aniya'y "testimonya" ng ilang miyembro ng Teatro Bungkal na kasamang nahuli.

"Your solidarity has been instrumental in securing this victory. We stand together to defend our democratic rights, uphold the principles of democracy, and call for the dropping of all charges against the Dela Cernas. Moreover, we demand the release of all political prisoners who remain unjustly detained."
Patuloy na pangangalap ng pondo
Bagama't pansamantalang nakalaya, iginigiit ng grupo na nagtalaga na ng mga ahente ng gobyerno para "tiktikan at harasin ang pamilya."
Patuloy pa ring nangangalap ang NNARA-Youth ng pondo para sa legal at campaign funds ng mga nabanggit.
"As we celebrate this momentous occasion, let us not forget that the fight is far from over. We demand the US-Marcos Jr. regime to drop all charges against the Dela Cernas and to release all political prisoners who have been unjustly detained," dagdag pa ni Cavan. — James Relativo
