CPP kinumpirma pagkamatay nina Benito at Wilma Tiamzon, 'tinorture' diumano
MANILA, Philippines (Updated 5:39 p.m.) — Kinundena ng pamunuan ng Communist Party of the Philippines ang pagpatay at pag-"toture" diumano ng Armed Forces of the Philippines sa mga lider komunistang sina Benito Tiamzon, Wilma Austria-Tiamzon at walo pang gerilya matapos mahuli sa probinsya ng Samar.
Ito ang kinumpirma ni Marco Valbuena, chief information officer ng Partido Komunista, ngayong Huwebes sa isang pahayag.
"The entire leadership and membership of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemns in the strongest terms the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for the brutal torture and cowardly killing of Party leaders Benito Tiamzon (Ka Laan) and Wilma Austria-Tiamzon (Ka Bagong-tao), together with eight other revolutionaries after they were captured in Samar province on August 21, 2022," ani Valbuena.
"At the time of their murder, Ka Benito, 71, was the Chairman of the CPP Executive Committee, while Ka Wilma, 70, was the CPP's Secretary General. They were travelling with Ka Divino (Joel Arceo), a subregional secretary in Eastern Visayas, along with Ka Yen, Ka Jaja, Ka Matt, Ka Ash, Ka Delfin, Ka Lupe, Ka Butig (Catbalogan 10), who all belonged to the guerrilla force of the central headquarters."
Sa naturang ulat, sinasabing nakasakay sa magkahiwalay na van ang mag-asawang pinuno ng partido patungong Catbalogan City. Pinara raw ang mga nabanggit bandang 12 p.m. at 1 p.m. at hindi armado noong panahong iyon.
Ang CPP o PKP ay ang partidong namumuno sa New People's Army (Bagong Hukbong Bayan) na siyang naglulunsad ng armadong pakikibaka upang maagaw ang pulitikang kapangyarihan mula sa gobyerno.
Nilalabanan nila ang imperyalismo (pagkontrol ng mga dayuhan sa pulitika, ekonomiya at kultura ng bansa), burukrata kapitalismo (pagpapatakbo ng gobyerno na parang negosyo) at piyudalismo (kawalan ng lupa ng mga magsasaka).
Tinitignan ng gobyerno bilang "terorista" ang CPP-NPA ngunit para sa iba ay hinihirang silang rebolusyonaryo.
"It explained that it took several weeks to establish the veracity of the reports which the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) released around that time. It also had to conduct months of investigation to piece together the details of the capture and subsequent massacre of the Tiamzons," dagdag pa ni Valbuena.
"According to the information gathered by the Central Committee, the Tiamzons suffered severe beating in the hands of their captors. Internal reports cited witnesses who saw how the faces and bodies of the victims were smashed, apparently beaten with hard objects."
Pinasinungalingan din ng CPP PolitBureau ang ulat ng AFP na nagsasabing sumabog ang sinasakyang bangka ng mga Tiamzon habang "nakikipagbarilan" sa mga pwersa ng Joint Task Force Storm, 8th Infantry Division at Joint Special Operations Task Force-Trident noong ika-22 ng Agosto sa baybayin ng Catbalogan.
Dagdag pa ng CPP offcial, drama lang ng AFP at kanilang US military advisers ang diumanoo'y engkwentro sa dagat. Sa katotohanan, inilagay daw ang mga labi ng mag-asawa sa isang motorboat na puno ng pampasabog bago paputukin. Walong katawan ang nakuha ng militar.
"The CPP demands justice for the Tiamzons and the Catbalogan 10, and calls for their indictment in all relevant courts," panapos ni Valbuena habang itinuturong responsable sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., dating AFP chief of staff Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Bacarro, atbp.
21-gun salute inihahanda
Naghahanda naman ngayon ng 21-gun salute ang lahat ng unit ng NPA sa ika-24 ng Abril para sa mga yumaong Tiamzon kasabay ng ika-50 anibersaryo ng National Demorcatic Front of the Philippines.
Tinatawagan din nila ang lahat ng Pulang Mandirigma at rebolusyonaryong talakayin ang ilalabas na pahayag ng Political Bureau ng Komite Sentral pagdating sa ambag at pamumuno nina "Ka Laan" "Ka Bagong-tao."
"On this day, let us also remember all the martyrs and heroes of the Philippine revolution, and solemnly reaffirm our determination to arouse, organize and mobilize the Filipino people, carry forward the struggle for genuine national freedom and democracy, and bring the national democratic revolution to greater heights," ayon sa komite sentral at National Operational Command ng NPA.
Hinihingian pa naman ng Philstar.com ng panig si AFP spokesperson Medel Aguilar patungkol sa naturang balita at akusasyon ng torture sa mga nabanggit.
'Pekeng' engkwentro, kinundina
Sa isang pahayag, kinilala ng Bagong Alyansang Makabayan ang dalawa bilang "tunay na rebolusyonaryo" na sumali rin sa peace talks noong 2016-2017 para bigyang lunas ang mga ugat ng dekada nang labanan sa mga erya ng Pilipinas.
"Both were also veterans of the struggle against the US-Marcos dictatorship in the 70s and 80s and were former political prisoners. The manner of their death on August 21, 2022, as recently announced by their comrades, is utterly condemnable," ayon sa grupo.
"The killings of revolutionaries in these fake encounters are no different from the tokhang murders in the drug war. These violations of international humanitarian law are apparently justified by the terrorist tag on the victims. Again, this is unacceptable," sabi rin ng BAYAN habang nagtatawag ng independent na imbestigasyon sa insidente.
Kanina lang nang sabihin ni Teddy Casino, aktibista at dating kinatawan ng Bayan Muna party-list, na seryosong alegasyon ang ginagawa ngayon ng CPP laban sa AFP lalo na't bigla raw silang tumahimik patungkol sa isyu.
Tinataya ng militar na nasa 2,000 na lang daw ang miyembro ng rebeldeng NPA sa nalalabi nitong "22 guerilla fronts." Dalawa na lang daw dito ang aktibo habang humina na diumano ang iba.
