Bulkang Bulusan itinaas sa Alert Level 1
Smoke rises from Bulusan volcano (C) as seen from Sorsogon City, Sorsogon province on June 6, 2022. The volcano in the eastern Philippines spewed a huge, dark cloud on June 5, prompting evacuations from ash-covered towns while authorities warned of possible further eruptions.

MANILA, Philippines (Updated 4:39 p.m.)

"The Bulusan Volcano Network (BVN) has recorded a total of one hundred twenty-six (126) weak and shallow (0-5 kilometers deep) volcanic earthquakes since 5:00 AM yesterday, 11 October 2022," ayon sa state volcanologists, Miyerkules.

"Most of these events occurred in the northwestern sector and the summit area of Bulusan and are attributed to rock-fracturing processes within the edifice."

Mapaso, Irosin at Brgy. San Roque, Bulusan noong ika-10 hanggang ika-11 ng Oktubre.

"In view of the above, DOST-PHIVOLCS is now raising the alert status of Bulusan  from Alert Level 0 to Alert Level 1, which means that the volcano is currently in a state of low-level unrest," patuloy pa ng Phivolcs.

"Local government units and the public are reminded that entry into the 4-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) must be strictly prohibited and that vigilance in the 2-kilometer Extended Danger Zone (EDZ) on the southeast sector must be exercised due to the increased possibilities of sudden and hazardous phreatic eruptions."
