"If Davao City is so 'multi-awarded,' why is it that... Mayor Duterte's Press Information Officer Jefry Tupas was nabbed at a beach party where she and her friends were snorting P1.5 million worth of drugs on November 6, 2021?" wika noon ni Bello dahil sa hindi pagdalo ni Duterte-Carpio sa CNN debates.

"That she did not know she was sheltering a drug dealer is not credible."

"The filing of cyberlibel charges by Jefry Tupas is clearly a politically-motivated move. Was Tupas instructed by Sara Duterte to take away attention from her refusal to participate in the Vice Presidential debate? This strategy has one goal in mind: harassment," sabi niya sa press.

"It aims to inconvenience us in legal bureaucracy while failing to address the concerns we've raised about the mayor's tainted record in Davao."

There is no such thing as making bawi this statement. We'll stand on it," ani Bello, na dating kinatawan ng Akbayan party-list.

"We're prepared to do that [face them in court]. There are so many lawyers that would like to defend us [in this case] so that they can protect people from the use of cyberlibel to harass people politically."
