Ex-Customs exec arestuhin - Duterte

MANILA, Philippines — Pinapaaresto ni Pa­ngulong Duterte si resigned Customs intelligence officer na si Jimmy Guban.

“Tell me who is this guy asking for money, extortion. I will call him here, I’ll have him arrested, kaya iyang si Guban pinapa-aresto ko,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

“Sabi ko, right after the session, you arrest him. Sabi ni Albayalde, ‘What ground?’ … Just arrest him, bring him to the NBI. Huwag kayo kasi kayo, na-mention kayo diyan sa investigation. Bring him to the NBI,” wika pa ng Pangulo.

Kabilang si Guban sa nasangkot sa sinasabing P6.8 bilyong halaga ng shabu na naipuslit sa Bureau of Customs sa apat na magnetic lifters na natagpuang sa GMA, Cavite.

Pina-contempt ni Sen. Richard Gordon, chairman ng senate blue ribbon committee, si Guban dahil sa hindi nito pagsasabi ng totoo sa komite.

Magugunita na kasama rin si Guban sa inilabas na drug matrix ni Pangulong Duterte kasabwat ang isang mataas na opisyal ng PDEA at isang dating opisyal din ng pulis.

Pamilyar na rin si Gu­ban sa illegal drug ope­rations dahil sa tagal na nito sa BOC at pagsalakay sa mga bodega ng mga smugglers ng asukal, sibuyas, bawang at ibang commodities na kadalasan ay pag-aari ng mga Intsik.

“Those are the same owners whom he collects grease money [from]. The raids were his means of showing the owners that he has the power and influence in the Intelligence Group of the DOC so that they will continue to pay ‘tara’ to his group,” nakasaad pa sa report.

Inuugnay rin si Guban sa isang Chen Yu na mi­yembro ng Bamboo Alliance Syndicate.

“Guban’s source of wealth is dubious. In the past, he only used to ride a motorcycle, but after several operations and ‘accomplishments’, his new ride became a Land Cruiser and he eventually possessed a number of homes,” wika pa sa ulat.

Samantala hindi naman tiyak kung isusuko ng Senado si Guban kung walang warrant of arrest na maipi-presenta ang mga aaresto sa kanya.
