MANILA, Philippines — Hiniling ni Senate President Koko Pimentel sa Sanofi Pasteur na ibalik nito ang buong P3.5 bilyon na nasa kontrata at hindi lamang ang mga hindi nagamit na Dengvaxia vaccines.
“All the vaccines were defective from the very beginning. Therefore, under our laws, we should demand the whole P3.5 billion we paid them and not just part of it,” sabi ni Pimentel.
Ginawa ni Pimentel ang pahayag matapos sabihin ng Department of Health sa Sanofi na i-refund nito ang P1.4 bilyon na halaga ng hindi pa nagamit na dengue vaccine.
“The Civil Code says you can have a defective product replaced or refunded. Since there is no possible replacement for the vaccine, refund is the only option,” ayon kay Pimentel.
Nauna rito, hiniling na rin ni Sen. Richard Gordon sa Sanofi na i-refund nito ang P3.5 bilyon na buong contract price para sa Dengvaxia vaccine.
Sinabi pa ni Pimentel, dapat ding managot ang Sanofi dahil inilagay nito sa alanganin ang buhay ng may 800,000 kabataan na nabakunahan ng Dengvaxia.
