Mabagal na hustisya sa SAF 44 binatikos
MANILA, Philippines – Nagpahayag si Leyte Rep. at senatorial candidate Martin Romualdez ng pagkadismaya na isang taon matapos ang Mamasapano “massacre” ay hindi pa rin nakakamit ng 44 napatay na miyembro ng PNP Special Action Force ang hustisya.
“The families of the victims of the Mamasapano massacre are well within their right to demand justice for the death of the 44 gallant troopers considering that the incident took place even as a peace agreement between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was already in place,” wika ni Romualdez.
Bilang resulta ng Mamasapano massacre, naudlot ang pagpasa ng Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) matapos kwestyunin ng mga mambabatas ang pagiging naaayon nito o hindi sa Konstitusyon.
Ayon kay Romualdez, suportado niya ang mga susog o amyenda sa proposed BBL upang maiayon ito sa mga probisyon ng Konstitusyon. Kinatigan naman ni Romualdez, presidente ng Philippine Constitution Association at leader ng independent minority bloc sa Kongreso, ang pagbibigay ng posthumous awards sa mga miyembro ng SAF 44.
“They demonstrated extraordinary bravery amid overwhelming odds,” ani Romualdez.
