Ombudsman pinakakasuhan ang PNP officials sa AK-47 scam

MANILA, Philippines – Pinakakasuhan na ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales ngayong Miyerkules ang mga opisyal ng Philippine National Police kaugnay ng AK-47 scam.

Nahaharap sa kasong multiple counts ng violations of Sections 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act) ang sumusunod na pangalan dahil sa pagbibigay ng lisensya sa mga AK-47 rifles noong Agosto 2011 hanggang Abril 2013:

  • Police Director Gil Meneses ng Civil Security Group
  • Police Director Napoleon Estilles ng Firearms and Explosives Office
  • Police Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta
  • Police Chief Superintendent Tomas Rentoy III
  • Police Chief Superintendent Regino Catiis
  • Police Senior Superintendent Eduardo Acierto
  • P/SSupt. Allan Parreño
  • Police Superintendent Nelson Bautista
  • Police Chief Inspector Ricardo Zapata, Jr.
  • Police Chief Inspector Ricky Sumalde
  • SPO1 Eric Tan
  • SPO1 Randy De Sesto
  • Nora Pirote (Caraga Security Agency)
  • Sol Bargan (Caraga Security Agency)
  • Isidro Lozada (Caraga Security Agency)

May hiwalay pang kasong paglabag sa Section 3(j) ng Republic Act 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act) sina Estilles at Petrasanta.

Lumabas sa imbestigasyon ng Ombudsman na kuwestiyonable ang pagbibigay ng lisensya ng mga baril sa  Caraga, Isla Security Agency, Claver Mineral Development Corp. at JTC Mineral Mining Corp.  sa kabila ng kakulangan ng mga dokyumento at ang iba pa rito ay mga pineke.

Hindi naman nakasuhan ang iba pang respondents na sina: Police Chief Inspector Rodrigo Benedicto Sarmiento, NUP Enrique Dela Cruz, and Twin Pines representatives, namely: Servando Topacio, Marie Ann Topacio, Alexandria Topacio, Hagen Alexander Topacio, Thelma Castillejos, Sherry Lyn Fetalino at Lourdes Logronio,  dahil sa kakulangan ng probable cause.
