Pemberton dadalo sa mga hearing – US Ambassador

Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines – Tiniyak ni United States (US) Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg ngayong Huwebes na dadalo sa mga pagdinig ng kasong murder si US Marine Joseph Scott Pemberton kaugnay ng pagpatay kay Filipino transgender Jennifer Laude.

"We're working very closely with the Philippine side because we are sympathetic and understand the issues involved here and many of the political issues involved in the custody matter," pahayag ni Goldberg sa isang panayam sa telebisyon.

Nauna nang ibinasura ng Amerika ang kahilingan ng Pilipinas na makuha ang kustodiya ni Pemberton dahil sa Visiting Forces Agreement.

"The thing for people to understand is that we are going to cooperate fully with the judicial process. We will make the suspect available for the proper hearings," pagtitiyak ni Goldberg.

"We have shared evidence; we'll continue to do that. We work very cooperatively through the (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) and the (Philippine National Police)... That’s the VFA says we should do in addition to the way we would do this as friends and allies," dagdag niya.

Bilang patunay na nagtutulungan ang dalawang bansa, tinukoy ni Goldberg ang mabilsi na paggulong ng kaso mula sa pagtukoy ng suspek hanggang sa paglalabas ng arrest warrant.
