2 patay kay 'Queenie,' LPA sa Mindanao binabantayan

MANILA, Philippines – Dalawa ang patay, habang libu-libong ang naapektuhan ng bagyong “Queenie” matapos itong manalasa sa Visayas, ayon sa state disaster response agency ngayong Biyernes.

Kinilala ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ang mga nasawi na sina Cesar Dela Cerna, 59, at Alona Baldado, na kapwa taga Cebu at parehong nalunod sa baha.

Siyam na katao rin ang nawawala, dagdag ng NDRRMC.

Umabot sa 1,617 pamilya o 7,528 na katao mula Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao at Caraga regions ang lumikas dahil kay Queenie.

Huling namataan ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) si Queenie sa 120 kilometro hilaga ng Puerto Princesa City.

Taglay ng bagyo ng lakas na 55 kilometers per hour, habang gumagalaw sa bilis na 24 kph.

Samantala, isang low pressure area ang binabantayan ng PAGASA sa katimugang bahagi ng Mindanao.

Nakataas pa rin naman ang public storm warning signal number 1 sa Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands at Cuyo Islands.

Tinatayang lalabas ng bansa si Queenie bukas ng gabi.
