Drilon kinasuhan ng pandarambong sa Ombudsman

MANILA, Philippines — Dawit si Senate President Franklin Drilon sa mahabang listahan ng mga opisyal ng gobyerno na sangkot umano sa overpriced na Iloilo Convention Center (ICC).

Ayon kay dating Iloilo provincial administrator Manual Mejorada, nilabag nina Drilon, Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez at pito pang ibang opisyal ang Republic Act 7080, o ang Anti-Plunder Act, dahil sa pagpapagawa ng ICC.

"I am filing criminal and administrative complaints against the above-named respondent[s] for offenses committed in the procurement and implementation of the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City," pahayag ni Mejorada.

Nais din ng dating provincial administrator na kasuhan pa ang mga naturang opisyal ng malversation of public funds, dishonesty at grave misconduct.

Kabilang din sa reklamo ang WV Coscolluella Architects at project contractor Hilmarc's Construction Corp.

Ang Hilmarc's din ang kompanyang gumawa sa umano'y overpriced din na Makati City Hall II parking building na ngayon ay iniimbestigahan sa Senado.

Sabit din sa kaso ni Mejorada sina Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Jaime Pacanan, Undersecretary Romeo Momo, regional director Edilberto Tayao, Marilyn Celiz at Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority administrator Mark Lapid.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Tayao na hindi pa nagagastos ang kabuuang pondo na P747 milyon, dahil nasa first phase pa lamang ito na nagkakahalaga ng P492 milyon.

Inilibas ng DPWH ang pondo noon 2012.
