Barko ng US marine sa transgender slay pinaiwan sa Pinas

MANILA, Philippines — Lima sa anim na barko ng United States Navy ay nakaalis na ng bansa maliban sa amphibious landing vessel na USS Peleliu upang maimbestigahan kaugnay ng pagpatay sa isang Filipino transgender sa Olongapo City.

Sinabi ni Retired Gen. Eduardo Oban, executive director of the Visiting Forces Agreement commission, na kailangang maiwan sa bansa ng USS Peleliu dahil kabilang ito sa mga iimbestigahan sa kaso ng pagpatay kay Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude.

"All other ships may now leave the Philippines to proceed with their respective operations or missions," pahayag ni Oban.

Sa loob ngPeleliu nakapiit ang suspek na si US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton na positibong kinilala ng testigo.

Nasa bansa ang mga barko ng US navy para sa taunang US-Philippine Amphibious Landing Exercises, o PHIBLEX.

Nagsagawa ng imbestigasyon ang US Naval Criminal Investigation Service sa USS Peleliu a USS Georgetown.

"The bottom line is that all those involved in the case will stay and Peleliu is not going to leave until the investigation is done," wika ni Oban.
