Anti-graft umapela sa Ombudsman
MANILA, Philippines - Hiniling ng isang anti-graft group kay Ombudsman Conchita Morales na isailalim sa preventive suspension si Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucile Bayron matapos itong kasuhan ng 4 counts ng administrative charges at 3 criminal cases noong nakaraang taon.
Ayon sa Movement Against Graft and Abuse of Power (MAGAP), dapat lamang suspindihin ni Ombudsman Morales si Mayor Bayron upang hindi umano nito maimpluwensiyahan ang imbestigasyon sa kanya matapos siyang sampahan ng Graft charges.
“Our call to Ombudsman Morales to suspend Mayor Bayron is a strong re-echo of the call of a lone graft complainant against the mayor to preventively suspend him; moreover, as a part of our patriotic bid to further bolster his public cause to punish erring public officials and stop abuses and corrupt acts in public offices by public officials and employees in that world-renowned Western Philippine City,” ayon kay Jonathan Sinel ng MAGAP.
