P637.8M halaga ng droga sinira ng PDEA

MANILA, Philippines – Aabot sa 386.08 na kilo ng iba't ibang ilegal na droga ang sinira ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ngayong Miyerkules sa lalawigan ng Cavite.

Nagkakahalaga ng P637.8 milyon ang mga droga tulad ng shabu, ephedrine, cocaine, marijuana, ecstacy, valium, oxycodone at mga expired na gamot.

Saksi sa pagsira ng mga droga ang mga kinatawan ng PDEA, Department of Justice, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), Pubic Attorney’s Office, non-government organizations (NGOs) at ng mga mamamahyaag.

Isinagawa ang pagsira sa mga ilegal na droga sa Integrated Waste Management Inc. (IWMI), sa Barangay Aguado, Trece Martirez City, Cavite.

“These are part of the illegal drugs that were seized during operations conducted by PDEA combined with those turned over by other partner drug law enforcement agencies that are no longer needed as evidence in court,” pahayag ni PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr.

Isinagawa ito sangayon sa Republic Act 9165, o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation.

“The destruction of seized illegal drugs in accordance with the provisions of the law, will eliminate any misconception that these items are being recycled and peddled back into the streets.”
