Paniningil ni Henares kay Pacquiao: Trabaho lang - Palasyo

MANILA, Philippines – Dinepensahan ng Palasyo ngayong Lunes si Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim Henares mula sa mga nambabatiko sa kanya.

Inuulan ng kritisismo si Henares mula sa publiko dahil sa pagbibigay ng pahayag tungkol sa kailangang bayaran ni WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao sa kawanihan.

Sinabi ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte na ginagawa lamang ni Henares ang kanyang trabaho.

"She's very focused on her job and on her mandate. I don't quite think that she intends to be offensive. She's just doing her job," wika ni Valte.

"At this point, I don't think that she meant to be a spoiler to his victory," dagdag niya.

Sinabi ni Henares na nasa P2.56 bilyon na ang bayarin ni Pacquiao kasama dito ang mga hindi niya binayaran noong 2008 at 2009 na lumaki pa dahil sa interes.

Aabot sa 32 porsyento ng kinita ni Pacuiao sa laban nila ni Timothy Bradley kahapon sa Las Vegas.

Nilinaw ng BIR commissioner na hindi niya pinaaalala kay Pacquiao ang obligasyon ng boksingero.

"First, the issue of Mr. Pacquiao was raised only because I was asked questions. Kung hindi naman ako tinatanong, hindi naman ako nagsasalita," Henares said at a televised press conference in Manila last Friday.

Samantala, ayaw naman patulan ng palasyo ang mga internet memes laban kay Henares.

"We know how we (Filipinos) can find humor in every situation and perhaps, this is an example of that."
