PNoy panauhin sa pulong ng LMP

MANILA, Philippines - Imbitado si Pangulong Noynoy Aquino bilang guest of honor at speaker sa General Assembly ng League of Municipalities of the Philippines sa Marso 18 sa Manila Hotel.

Ayon kay LMP national president Mayor Leonardo “Sandy” Javier Jr., alkalde ng Municipa­lity of Javier sa Leyte, ang 2014 LMP General Assembly ay inaasahang gigiba sa rekord ng attendance na 1,200 sa pagkumpirma ng 1,491 mayors na sila’y dadalo sa taunang pagpupulong.

Ang Pangulo ay inimbitahan ding mag-induct sa mga opisyales ng League of Provinces na pinamumunuan ni Gov. Alfonso Umali ng Occidental Mindoro, League of Cities (Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista), League of Vice Governors (Vice Gov. Leonides Fausto ng Cagayan) at Liga ng mga Barangay (Nueva Ecija Liga pres. Edmund Abesamis).

Inaasahan din ang pagdalo ng iba pang matataas na opisyales ng administrasyon na sina DILG Sec. Mar Rojas, Agriculture Sec. Proceso Alcala, Education Sec. Armin Luistro, Energy Sec. Jericho Petilla, DPWH Sec. Rogelio Singson at DSWD Sec. Dinky Soliman.

Tatalakayin sa ma­laking pagpupulong na ito ang mga panguna­hing agenda ng municipal mayors, kunsaan inimbitahan din ang civil society groups na lumahok para sa paghahanda ng local budgets at pagtukoy sa priority projects para maisama sa national appropriations act.

Ang iba pang tatalakayin sa isang araw na symposium ay ang pagresolba sa kahirapan, pagpataas sa uri ng edukasyon, peace and order, infrastructure support, disaster preparedness and response, universal heathcare, at micro, small at medium enterprises development.
