Mas mataas na night differential pay suportado ng labor group

MANILA, Philippines – Nais ng isang grupo ng mga manggagawa na tumaas sa 15 porsiyento mula 10 porsiyento ang bayad sa nigh shift differential sa bansa o mga nagtatrabaho sa gabi.

Suportado ng Trade Union Congress of the Philippines ang House Bill 656 o ang Night Workers’ Additional Compensation Act of 2013 ni Rep. Ma. Victoria Sy-Alvarado.

Layunin din ng panukala na iusog ang oras ng night shift mula alas-8 ng gabi hanggang alas-4 ng ng madaling araw mula sa kasalukuyang alas-10 ng gabi hangang ala-6 ng umaga.

"We are in favor of increasing night shift differentials of workers by 5 percent because it will somehow help night shift workers manage with medical expenses out of sickness arising from their stressful and not so ordinary work schedule," pahayag ni TUCP- Associated Labor Unions executive vice president Gerard Seno.

"The increase will boost workers’ morale resulting in an increased productivity thereby benefiting the company [and] at the same time improve employees’ purchasing power, stimulating economic activity," dagdag niya.
