SSS sinugod ng mga manggagawa
MANILA, Philippines - Sinugod kahapon ng mga manggagawa sa panguÂnguna ng Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) ang gusali ng main office ng Social Security System (SSS) sa East Avenue Quezon City, upang kondenahin ang implementasyon ng 0.6% increase sa premium contributions ng mga miyembro nationwide.
Ayon sa KMU, ang naturang taas sa bayarin sa SSS premium ay lubhang magpapahirap sa maliliit na manggagawa na miyembro nito dahilan sa dadagdag pa ito sa mga bayarin ngayong taon.
“We workers strongly demand the junking of the SSS premium hike. It is unjust and nothing but additional burden to us members. It would surely go not to additional benefits but only directly to capitalists’ and corrupt bureaucrats’ pockets,†pahayag ni Rogelio “Roger†Soluta, KMU secretary-general.
Simula ngayong January 2014, ang monthly SSS contributions ay tataas ng 11 percent mula sa 10.4 percent upang masustinihan daw ang pagpapaganda ng serbisyo ng ahensiya sa mga miyembro nito.
“How could the SSS dry up its funds when they can dish out millions of its members’ money just for the bonuses of its board members? It is enraging how the Aquino government uses the lack of funds as an excuse for the premium hike when it was them who also defended the million bonuses by saying the SSS board for increasing the company’s financial capacity†giit pa ni Soluta.
Sinabi ni Soluta, nakatakda silang magsampa ng TRO sa Korte Suprema para pigilan ang naturang hakbang.
