MANILA, Philippines - Suportado ni Mother Lily Monteverde ang kandidatura ni Team PNoy senatorial bet Loren Legarda dahil sa pagiging responsableng mambabatas at environmenÂtalist nito. Bilib din ang matriarch ng Philippine movies na si Mother Lily sa pagiging mapagmahal na ina ni Sen. Loren sa kanyang 2 anak kahit na single parent siya.
“I really admire Loren for her strength and conviction,†said the veteran producer. “She always gives 110 percent of herself in everything she does,†wika ni Mother Lily.
“I know how difficult it is to excel in your career and to still be around for your family. Most people focus on one and neglect the other, but Loren has succeeded in both. She certainly deserves to be Number One in this senatorial election,†dagdag pa ni Monteverde.
Sa loob ng 15 taon bilang mambabatas, si Legarda ay taga-depensa ng environmental protection at woÂmen’s rights, at naging author ng mga mahahalagang batas tulad ng Clean Air Act, Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, Climate Change Law, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law at Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.
Kahit sa kanilang tahanan, nagsisilbi rin siyang insÂpirasyon ng kanyang pamilya at sa kabila ng naÂpaka-busy niyang iskedyul, naalagaan pa niya ang kanyang 80 anyos na ama at ang kanyang yaÂyang si Nanay Fely ng halos 53 taon nang naglilingkod sa kanya.
