Bumoto ng 'guilty' nagpa-pogi points

MANILA, Philippines - ‘Papogi points’ sa mga senador ang kanilang pagboto sa conviction ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Ito ang binigyan-diin ng analyst na si Ramon Casiple, executive director ng Institute for Political and Electoral Reform (IPER) sa ginanap na Church-based forum sa Maynila.

Ayon kay Casiple, posibleng nais ng mga re-electionist na senador na makakuha ng boto sa 2013 elections at maglalagay sa kanila sa puwesto sa loob ng anim na taon.

Sinabi pa ni Casiple na mahirap na ipaliwanag sa publiko ang hatol na acquittal samantalang inaasahan na ng publiko ang hatol sa conviction.

“Mahirap magpaliwanag sa mga botante na in-acquit mo si Corona. So, sa question na ito, how will the public accept ‘yung boto? Mas madali ang convict,” ani Casiple.

Kabilang sa mga reelectionist senators sina Alan Peter Cayetano, Fran­cis Escudero, Gringo Honasan, Loren Legarda, Antonio Trillanes at Koko Pimentel.
