Sinabi ni House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability Chair Iloilo Rep.

“The plight of some 100,000 public utility drivers through direct subsidy and tax discounts for spare parts but at the same time urged them to reciprocate by ensuring the safety of their passengers. Apart from reckless driving, various forms of mechanical breakdown due to improper vehicle maintenance are among the leading causes of vehicular accidents, many of which have claimed the lives of many people,” sabi ni Trenas.

“Proper vehicle maintenance should be a prerequisite for securing a franchise to operate a public transport system. Public transport operators have the utmost obligation to protect the safety of their passengers,” dagdag nito.
