Cimatu pumalag sa plunder

MANILA, Philippines - Binatikos kahapon ng kampo ni retired AFP chief Roy Cimatu ang isinampang plunder case ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na ibinatay sa ‘spurious’ documents na isinumite ni retired military budget officer George Rabusa.

Sinabi ni Atty. Sixto ‘Tito’ Antonio, tahasang binalewala ng fact-finding panel ng DOJ sa pangunguna ni Prosecutor-General Claro Arrellano ang argumento ni Cimatu laban sa kwestyonableng dokumento na isinumite ni Rabusa.

Giit ni Antonio, ang January 3, 2012 report ng DOJ panel ay agad ipinadala sa Ombudsman kaya maghahain sila ng mosyon para sa reinvestigation ng kaso.

Kinukuwestyon din ng kampo ni Cimatu ang motibo ni Rabusa sa pag-aakusa sa retiradong AFP chief.

“The records will show that it is Rabusa and his cohorts who plundered the AFP treasury. It is Rabusa and his gang who have enriched themselves in office and who have now misled the public and the prosecutors to let them go scot free. It is Rabusa and members of his syndicate who should be charged for all the crimes they have committed against the people and against General Cimatu and his co-respondents. We cannot and should not allow this travesty, this miscarriage of justice to happen,” wika ni Antonio.

Bukod kay Cimatu ay kinasuhan din ng plunder si retired AFP chief Diomedio Villanueva at 9 iba pa kaugnay sa sinasabing ‘pabaon’ at ‘pasalubong’ sa mga opisyal ng AFP.
