Sahod ng solons kakaltasan
MANILA, Philippines - Lilikom ng pondo ang mga kongresista upang matulungan ang mga anak ng sundalo na napatay ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
Sinabi ni House committee on public information chairman Ben Evardone na kakaltasan ng P5,000 ang suweldo ng mga kongresista ngayong buwan. Mayroong 285 kongresista sa kasalukuyan.
“This is intended for the education of the children of the fallen soldiers,” dagdag pa ni Evardone na nagsabi na suportado ito ni Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr.
Ayon kay Evardone, marami sa mga neophyte congressmen ay nagpasabi na doblehin o gawing P10,000 ang kaltas sa kanila. Target ng liderato ng Kamara na makalikom ng P3 milyon.
Kabilang sa mga magpapakaltas ng P10,000 sina Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco, Cebu Rep. Luigi Quisumbing, San Juan Rep. Joseph Victor Ejercito, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez, Leyte Rep. Jose Carlos Cari, Bohol Rep. Rene Relampagos, Western Samar Rep. Rene Senen Sarmiento at Biliran Rep. Roberto Espina. Inaasahan na marami pang daragdag dito.
Samantala, sinuportahan naman ni Parañaque Rep. Roilo Golez ang selective assault laban sa mga tumambang sa mga sundalo.
“Wars, whether local, low intensity or large scale, are always conducted in a calibrated matter. The military-police operation should be restricted to the Basilan area, but there should be no restrictions on the force to be used. The AFP command must however periodically assess the situation to determine if larger scale operations are warranted,” ani Golez.
