Murder ni Ortega siyasatin uli - DOJ

MANILA, Philippines - Inutos ni Justice Secretary Leila de Lima ang reinvestigation sa murder case na isinampa ni Dr. Patria Ortega, biyuda ng Palawan broadcaster at environmentalist na si Dr. Gerardo “Doc Gerry” Ortega, at ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) laban kina dating Palawan governor Joel Reyes, dating Marinduque governor Jose Carreon at walong iba pa bunsod na rin ng panibagong ebidensiya.

Sa isang pahinang kautusan, inatasan ni de Lima ang bagong panel na hahawak at magsasagawa ng reinvestigation, na kinabibilangan nina Assistant State Prosecutors Allan Mariano, Vimar Barcellano at Gerard Gaerlan.

“In the interest of service and due process, and to give both parties all the reasonable opportunity to present their evidence during the preliminary investigation, a new panel is hereby created... for the purpose of conducting a reinvestigation in the case of “NBI-Dr. Patria Gloria A. Inocencio Ortega vs. Romeo Seratubias in XVI-INV-11B-00062,” nakasaad sa order.

Una nang tinanggihan nina Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Edwin Dayog, Assistant State Prosecutor Bryan Jacinto Cacha at Prosecution Attorney John Benedict Medina ang mga bagong ebidensiya na inihain ng biyuda ni Ortega.

Lumilitaw naman sa 21-pahinang resolusyon  noong Hunyo na pinawalang sala sina Reyes, Carreon at iba pang co-respondents na sina Coron Mayor Mario Reyes Jr., Atty. Romeo Seratubias, Arturo Regalado, at Percival Lecias sa pamamaslang kay Ortega.

Tanging nadiin lamang sa kaso ang mga dating aide ni Reyes na sina Rodolfo Edrad Jr., Armando Noel, Dennis Aranas at Arwin Arandia.
