Rep. GMA 'no show' sa plunder case nito sa DOJ

MANILA, Philippines - Hindi sumipot si dating Pangulo at Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sa isinagawang pagdinig ng Department of Justice (DoJ) kaugnay sa kinakaharap nitong kasong plunder.

Maliban kay Rep. Arroyo, nabigo ring humarap sa preliminary investigaton sina dating Executive Sec. Alberto Romulo, dating health secretary at kasalukuyang Civil Service Commission (CSC) chairman Francisco Duque III, at dating OWWA administrator Virgilio Angelo.

Binigyan naman ng DOJ panel si GMA ng hanggang June 23 upang magsumite ng kanyang counter-affidavit.

Ang kaso ay isinampa laban sa mga respondents kaugnay sa sinasabing ma-anomalyang paggamit ng nakaraang administrasyon sa pondo ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Ayon naman kay Atty. Benjamin Santos, abogado ni Arroyo, mayroon pa silang 10 araw para maghain ng counter-affidavit.

Sa panig ni Duque, nagpasabi ang opisyal na nasa seminar umano ito habang hindi naman umano natanggap ni Angelo ang subpoena sa kanya.
