DoJ handa sa extradition ni Michael Ray Aquino

MANILA, Philippines - Tiniyak kahapon ni Justice  Secretary Leila De Lima na handa na sila sa extradition ni da­ting  police Supt. Michael Ray Aquino, na suspect sa kontrobersiyal na Da­cer-Corbito double murder case  dahil wala naman umano  silang nakikitang  hadlang  dito.

“The information gi­ven to us is that there are no more legal impediments for his extradition,” wika pa ni Sec. De Lima.

Ayon kay De Lima, hinihintay lamang nila ang official notice mula sa kanilang counterparts sa Amerika  upang mapabalik ng Pilipinas si Aquino.

Sinabi ni De Lima na  kailangan nila ang formal written note na nagsasabi na tapos na ang extradition process  gayundin ang   kumpirmas­yon na inaasahan sa mga susunod na linggo.

“We’re just talking here about a few weeks’ confirmation,” giit ni  De Lima.

Nabatid na ang extradition process ay nag­simula matapos na  ibasura ng US Court of Appeals ang  apela ni Aquino na ma-extradite siya.

Sakaling  matapos ang extradition process isang kinatawan ng gob­yerno ang  susundo kay Aquino.

Matatandaang si Aquino, ay sangkot sa  pagdukot at pagpatay sa veteran publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer at driver nitong si Emma­nuel Corbito noong Nob­­yembre 2000. Ang kasong double murder ay nakasampa sa Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 18.

Si Aquino ay sinasabing protégé ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson, na una na ring naging suspect subalit pinawalang sala ng Court of Appeals.
