Sept. 10 idineklarang holiday ni P-Noy
MANILA, Philippines - Idineklara kahapon ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III na isang regular non-working holiday ang September 10 bilang pagdiriwang ng Eid’l Fitr sa buong bansa.
Sinabi ni Executive Secretary Paquito “Jojo” Ochoa Jr., nagpalabas ng Proclamation no. 26 si Pangulong Aquino upang ideklarang regular non-working holiday ang Sept. 10 upang ipagdiwang ng buong bansa ang Eid’l Fitr o pagtatapos ng Ramadan.
Ayon kay Sec. Ochoa, nakasaad sa Republic Act 9177 na isang regular holiday ang Eid’l Fitr na ipagdidiwang sa buong bansa.
Ang Eid’l Fitr ay ipinagdiriwang ng Muslim World sa loob ng 3 araw sa pagtatapos ng Ramadan.
“To promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr. In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare September 10 on this year as a regular non-working holiday throughout the country,” paliwanag pa ni Ochoa.
