Razon masama ang loob sa pagkakadawit sa Euro Generals

MANILA, Philippines - Ikinasama ng loob ni dating Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief ret Director General Avelino “Sonny “ Razon Jr. ang pagkakadawit ng kaniyang pangalan sa ‘Euro Generals’.

Ayon kay Razon, retirado na siya sa serbisyo ng mangyari ang kontrobersyal na biyahe sa Russia noong Oktubre 2008 kaya’t sobrang foul na nakaladkad pa ang kaniyang pangalan sa isyu.

“I was not part of the PNP delegation that went to Moscow,Russia for the 77th Interpol General Assembly Session from Oct 6 to 11, 2008. I retired on Sept 27 , 2008,” sabi ni Razon.

Wala rin umano siyang ideya kung bakit isinama pa ang kaniyang pangalan sa nasabing delegasyon. Ang dating PNP Chief ay kabilang sa 12 na kinasuhan ng graft sa Ombudsman.

“Also it should be noted that after I retired there were changes made on the composition of the delegation. The only (probable) reason why my name was included in the case is due to the fact that I forwarded for approval to the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) on Aug 28, 2008 the travel abroad and subsequent issuance of foreign travel authority for the eight member PNP delegation, with no wives, and the authorized travel expenses of P2.314 million pesos for the eight delegates plane fares and travel allowances,” punto pa ni Razon sa isang press statement.

Sa kabila nito, sinabi naman ni Razon na walang irregularidad kung siya man ang nagrekomenda sa tanggapan ng DILG para sa pagbiyahe ng mga opisyal na dadalo sa International Police Ministerial Meeting sa Russia.

“The real issue here is the discovery in Moscow of the excess Euro in the possession of some members of the delegation,” punto pa ng naghihimutok na si Razon.

Binigyang diin ni Razon na handa siyang sumailalim sa imbestigasyon ng Office of the Ombudsman dahil malinis ang kaniyang konsensya at makakaya niyang linisin ang kaniyang pangalan.
