MANILA, Philippines – Isinampa kamakailan ng Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group sa Ombudsman ang kasong paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act laban kay Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales at lima pang katao dahil sa pakikipagsabwatan umano sa smuggling activities.

Kabilang pa sa idine­manda sina Mindanao Con­tainer Terminal Port Collector Rudy Amistad, Ramon Tan­ changco at Joel Aguilar ng Jetti Supply Distribution Inc.; Joselito Ma­galona corporate manager ng Jetti at broker na si Darwin Suico.

Ayon kay PASG Chief Antonio Villar, lumitaw sa imbestigasyon ng kanilang ahensya at ng National Bureau of Investigation na nagsabwatan umano ang mga akusado sa smuggling activities at hindi pagbaba­yad ng taxes at customs duties ng Jetti mula noong 1996 hang­gang sa kasalu­kuyan.

Iginiit naman ni Villar na ang South Seas Insurance Company na surety bond ng Jetti ay mayroong cease and desist order mula sa Insurance Commission mula pa noong Disyembre 5, 2006 kaya bawal nang mag-isyu ito ng policies at bonds. Inamin naman ni Amis­tad na pinayagan niyang ma-re­lease ang oil importations ng Jetti nang hindi nagba­bayad ng buwis. (Rudy Andal)
