5 Army employees suspendido sa overpricing ng combat boots

MANILA, Philippines - Limang empleyado ng Philippine Army ang sinus­pinde ni Army Chief Lt. Gen. Victor Ibrado na isinabit sa overpricing ng may 33, 319 combat boots noong 2004.

Kinilala ang mga sinus­pinde na sina Assistant Secretary Eduardo Opida, Executive Director Esta­nislao Granados Jr., Director Lour­des Santiago at Cirila Botor ng Inter-Agency Bids and Awards Committee (IABAC) ng Procurement Service –Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) kasama si Esterlita Necor mula rin sa PS-DBM.

Sa rekord ng Ombudsman noong Abril 2004 ang alok para sa bidding ng supply at delivery ng 97,257 pares ng combat boots ay may naapru­bahang pondo na aabot sa P102,119,850.

Gayunman sa hindi malamang kadahilanan ay 33, 319 pares lamang ng combat boots ang na-order na may nakalaan lamang P39,982,800 budget.

Kabilang sa mga bidder ang Filboot Manufacturing Corp. na ang alok na ha­laga ng combat boots ay P1, 047 bawat pares; Gib­son Shoe Factory, P1,038 kada pares at Jodaar Cottage Industries sa hala­gang P993.50 sa bawat pares.

Ang Filboot ang nag­wagi sa alok na P1,047 kada pares o kabuuang halagang P32,864,283 kung saan ay P1,200 uma­no ang pinalabas na ibi­nayad sa kada pares ng kabuuang 31,389 pares ng combat boots o kabuuang P37,666, 800. (Joy Cantos)
