P2M kinita ng PNP sa shooting tournament, para sa housing

Gagamitin ng Philip­pine National Police (PNP) ang P2-M kinita nito sa shooting tourna­ment sa Clark, ­noong na­kalipas na buwan para sa pabahay ng mga pulis sa ilalim ng Gawad Ka­linga Special Housing Project.

Ayon kay PNP Chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr., ang pinaka­ma­laking fund raising event na inilunsad ng PNP para sa shooting competition ay nilahukan ng may 700 lokal at dayuhang shooters sa loob ng anim na araw na kumpetisyon sa ilalim ng International Practical Shooting Con­federation (IPSC).

“This support by the international practical shooting community to the PNP Housing Pro­gram will go a long way in boosting the morale of our policemen and in­spiring them to perform better,” ani Razon.

Sinabi ni Razon na ang nalikom na pondo ay itu-turnover ng mga orga­nizers ng tournament sa PNP Housing Board na pinamumunuan ni De­puty Director Gen. Jesus Verzosa sa gaganaping flag raising ceremony bukas sa Camp Crame.

Nabatid na 27 PNP teams ang nag-top sa individual at team events sa handgun, shotgun at rifle divisions kung saan ang limang nangunguna ay bibigyan ng parangal ni Razon sa nasabing okasyon.

Ang overall PNP Team Competition ay na­pagwagian ng Manila Police District MPD) ha­bang ang National Head­quarters at Special Action Force (SAF) ay 1st at 2nd runner-up sa shooting tournament.  

Samantala, nag-cham­pion naman si SPO4 Anthony Sy ng Manila Police District sa Hand­gun Production Division, Chief Insp. Lito Patay ng Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 ang nagwagi sa Standard Handgun ca­tegory at Supt. Ronald de la Rosa, no. 1 naman sa Open Rifle Division. (Joy Cantos)
