12 kinasuhan ng PASG sa oil smuggling

Inirekomenda ng Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) sa Department of Justice (DOJ) ang pagsasampa ng kasong kriminal laban sa 12 katao kabilang ang apat na em­pleyado ng Bureau of Customs kaugnay ng multi-milyong smuggling ng la­ngis sa Subic Bay Free­port.

Ayon kay PASG Head Undersecretary Antonio “Bebot” A. Villar, Jr., ang pag­­sasampa ng reklamo ay batay sa isinagawang investigation ng PASG chief for operations at NBI Deputy Director Atty. Edmund Arugay kung saan napatunayang dinaya ng mga suspek ang pama­halaan sa pamamagitan ng hindi pagbabayad ng buwis.

Ang mga inireko­men­dang kasuhan ay sina Paul Co, chairman ng Oillink International Corp.; Esther Magleo, president ng Oil­link; Janice Co, finance-import manager ng Oillink; Johnny Tan ng Oillink; Rolando Valeriano ng Trail Blazer Integrated Brokerage Corp.; Noel Aro ng RNN shipping and transport agency; Manuel Tan at Manuel de Guzman ng Marine inspection and testing services; Delia Morala Jose Bernas, Miguelito Legaspi at Julian Gabriel ng Bureau of Customs.

Sinabi ni Director Aru­gay, nagsabwatan ang mga suspek upang mapa­lusot at maging undervalue ang may 26,508.50 metric tons ng langis kung saan ay 12,657.41 lamang ang kanilang binayarang buwis nitong Pebrero 19 sa Subic Bay Freport.
