Nagtalaga kahapon si Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ng bagong hepe ng Task Force Usig na nagsisiyasat sa serye ng mga pagpaslang sa mga mamamahayag at maka-Kaliwang aktibista.

Epektibo kahapon ang pagtatalaga kay Director Geary Barias ng Director for Investigative and Detection Management kapalit ni Deputy Director Avelino Razon.

Ginawa ng Pangulo ang hakbang kasabay ng hiwalay na imbestigasyon ng United Nations High Commission on Human Rights sa naturang mga pamamaslang. (Joy Cantos)
