2 Comelec appointees pinatatalsik

Hiniling kahapon ng Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) sa Malacañang na agarang patalsikin ang dalawang bagong appointed commissioners sa Comelec dahil sa pagpapakita kaagad nito ng bias matapos magsumite ng kanilang opinyon na dapat i-disqualify si Fernando Poe, Jr.

Sinabi ni KNP spokesman Mike Romero, lumitaw na kaagad ang pagiging bias ng dalawang bagong commissioners na sina Virgilio Garcillano at Manuel Barcelona ng kontrahin nito ang naging desisyon ng kanilang mga kasamahan sa Comelec ukol sa citizenship issue ni FPJ.

Ayon kay Romero, ang pagsusumite ng apela ng dalawang bagong commissioners sa Supreme Court para madiskuwalipika si Da King dahil sa hindi umano ito natural-born Filipino citizen ay agarang pagpapakita ng kanilang pagkiling sa Malacañang.

"The grounds raised by the two new commissioners in asking the high court to disqualify FPJ were the same arguments that were thrown out by the Comelec en banc and their twisted logic in having the strongest candidate disqualified from the presidential race only bolster the growing public perception that they were named on the comelec by President Arroyo just to protect her political interests," wika ni Romero.

Magugunita na itinalaga ni GMA ang 2 commissioners habang naka-recess ang Kongreso para hindi na mabusisi ang kuwalipikasyon ng mga ito sa Commission on Appointments.

Mahigpit na tinutulan ni Sen. Aquilino Pimentel ang ad interim appointment nina Garcillano at Barcelona bilang kapalit ng mga nagretirong sina Commissioners Ralph Lantion at Luz Tancangco dahil pawang malalapit ito kay First Gent Mike Arroyo kaya dapat dumaan ito sa CA. (Ulat ni Rudy Andal)
