Pads misakmit dugangduha ka gold medals

CEBU, Philippines — Ang garbo sa Sugbo nga Philippine Accessible Disability Services, Inc. (PADS) Dragon Boat Team milabni og dugang duha ka gold medals sa International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) 13th Club Crew World Championships kagahapong adlawa didto sa Nathan Benderson Park sa Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida.

Gipangulohan sa ilang founder ug team manager nga si John Paul "JP" Ecarma Maunes, ang PADS nga gilangkoban og 25 ka miyembro nga sagad dunay apan sa pisikal nilang panglawas nanghawod sa 200-meter race sa PD 1 ug PD 2 categories.

Nakuha sa PADS ang una nilang bulawang medalya niadtong Miyerkules pinaagi sa PD2 category sa 2,000m race distance.

"History in the making! We got two more gold medals today," suwat pa ni Maunes sa iyang Facebook page dayong padayag nga dili sayon ang dalan nga ilang giagian padung sa usa ka semanang torneyo.

"There were a lot of distractions coming to the world championships that almost broke the team into pieces and as a team, we stood for each other, lifted everyone from their feet and carried every burden we can carry just to make the impossible happen. These adversities fueled us to give it all in the races," paambit pa ni Maunes.

"Today was a very emotional race. As we look back six years ago, all we had was our dreams. Now these dreams are slowly becoming a reality as we reap the fruits of our hard work, dedication and sacrifices and of course, an entire community to back us up," dugang pa ni Maunes.
