Lot occupants sue Talisay govt

CEBU, Philippines - Occupants of a private lot in Talisay City whose houses were demolished have asked the court to stop the city, Lagrimas Abarquez and Liora Layon of Local Housing of Talisay City,  and Police Inspector Hugo Rio Ipong from continuing with the demolition on the ground that the demolition team had not shown them a special court order for the demolition and no sheriff was present during the demolition.

The occupants are seeking for damages and attorney’s fees and a status quo to stop the defendants from further demolishing their houses.  (FREEMAN)
